Call to Order & Roll Call (Quorum = 7): President Herrmann called the meeting to order at 5:20pm      .

Previous Minutes (Herrmann): The minutes of the last meeting were approved by Glen Bahr, Dave K, seconded passed unanimously.

President’s Report (Herrmann):

·    Membership Chair Opening- hasn’t been filled as of yet

·    Roses For the Living Award-postponed slow start

·    New Exchange Student :girl from Thailand Patcharin”Kwan Petcharat age 16.9 , we have two host families line up

·    Interact Club dinner results: 1,000 raised from the dinner and $400-$500 from cd’s all proceeds went to the Lost Boys School in Africa

·    Teacher of the Year great Results: pres Bob went to the presentation that our recipient, Len Gratch had done. He had bought books for the students all but 2 families came, it was a great presentation.

·    International Students Day: Ron Cantor ahs done a great job. He has a great administrative asst who has set up a face book site about the event.

Secretary’s Report:

·    Member proposals. Ellie Dombrowski she was proposed by Dave K, he made a motion, seconded by Sandi Latimer, motion passed

·    Leaves of absence. None

·    Resignations. June Sperlik

·    Rocco Versace Letter – Joe Fusco made the motion to approve Rocco V to qualify under the article 9 of the Rotary Constitution, Dave K seconded motion approved. 

  

Treasurer’s Report (Latimer): The Treasurer’s Report was received and duly recorded.

Proposed 2010-2011 budget- we reviewed the budget and per Dave K 2 meetings were held to go over the proposed numbers and we will approve the budget at next months meeting.

Area Reports:

·    Membership still open looking for a chair, someone had mentioned possible Tara Baker.

·    Public Relations (Corbett). No report  

·    Club Administration (Graves).

 

Club Projects (Fusco).

  Interact Club at RFA (Fusco/Neiley N).

  YE Student Information Update (Fusco/Neiley N). we are looking for host families

  Rotary Reader Program Update (Fusco/Packer).over for this year

 

·      Canal fest update (Kobernuss). We gained $4500 in major sponsors

·      The Rotary Foundation (Tuthill). $4123 in sustaining membership dollars, $617.12 from the pigs and they will be coming back in the fall.

Grant Request –$100 Rome Sports Hall of Fame, was from Mike Occhipinti per Dave K is has already been put in the budget this is for the Rome Bowl.

 

Grant Request $2500- Rome Sports Hall of Fame Bill Tuthill made a motion and was seconded by Clark Speicher to send a letter stating this request is not within the realm of what Rotary does. Motion passed.

 

Grant Request, unspecified, VIPS-in recognition for assistance with security at Canal fest, Carol Mooney made a motion seconded by Karin Tuthill for a uniform upgrade to give the VIPS $500.00, motion passed

 

Honor America Days Dave K made a motion and was seconded by Debbie A to give Honor America Days $1000, Motion Passed

 

Parade- Ron Townsend is getting the flag a sign up sheet will be passed around for Rotarians to sign up.

 

We received 2 simplified grants that thanks to Joyce Midland and Karin Tuthill ONE WILL BE FOR Jervis Library and their summer reading program we received $1000.00 and the other is for $1700.00 for Children’s wardrobe passed on suggestions from teachers.

 

June 30th a fundraising seminar will be held at the Common Council Chambers held by the State of New York.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:24          . The next regular meeting of the Board will be on July 19, 2010 at the Savoy, 5:15 p.m.
