Call to Order & Roll Call (Quorum = 9): President Herrmann called the meeting to order at 5:20 p.m.

Previous Minutes (Herrmann): The minutes of the April 19, 2010 meeting were approved on motion by Dave K, seconded by Sandi Latimer . The Minutes of the April meeting were approved on motion by Joe Fusco and seconded by Sandie Latimer.

President’s Report (Herrmann):

·      Rome Chamber Award, Bob had mentioned that The Rome Chamber was giving Rome Rotary an award, and everyone that can should try and attend.

·      Membership Chair Opening, Bob spoke about that we are in need of a membership chair. Sandi advised that a description of what being a membership chair entails should be put in the newsletter and brought to the next Rotary Meeting.

·      Annual Dues, it was discussed that a $5 increase be proposed, so if you pay early the amount would be $190 and after June 30 the amount would be $210.00. Glen Bahr made a motion, Bill Tuthill seconded.

·      Rescue Mission Dinner, Pres Bob had sent an email asking if anyone was interested in attending. 

·      Roses for Living  Pres Bob had stated as of Fri the 14th of May we had no nominations, if anyone knows of a potential candidate.

Secretary’s Report:

·      Member proposals. None.

·      Leaves of absence. None

·      Resignations. None.

 

Treasurer’s Report (Latimer): The Treasurer’s Report was received and duly recorded.

Area Reports:

·      Membership (Carey).  We are looking for a new chair.

·      Public Relations (Corbett).   

·      Club Administration (Graves).

►  New fundraising ideas – Townsend/Fusco – No report.

Club Projects (Fusco).

►  Interact Club at RFA (Fusco/Neiley N). We have 2 RYLA candidates. Bill Tuthill had mentioned he has tickets for the May 20th Dinner the interact club is putting on.

►  YE Student Information Update (Fusco/Neiley N). Pres Bob was asking if anyone new who the new exchange is.

►  Rotary Reader Program Update (Fusco/Packer). Jeanne Packer gave an update on Rotary Readers.

 

·        Canalfest update (Kobernuss). Report was given by Dave Kobernuss.

·        The Rotary Foundation (Tuthill). Report was given by Bill stating that we have raised $3700 for sustaining members, our goal was $2500.00. Bill had given $1,000.

·        Other Old Business: Dave Kobernuss had made a motion to give 2,000 to the ROTC program and 1,000 to the Civil Air Patrol, it was seconded by Missy Graves.

·        Other New Business: 

 

Honor America Days: Debbie had brought a parade application and advised that Rotary usually walks and a sign up sheet will be passed around shortly.

 

Grant Request 4000 mile bike ride, it was discussed and decided that we would send an email to Joelle Taylor advising of the Board’s to not do this.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:45 p.m. The next regular meeting of the Board will be on April 19, 2010 at the Savoy, 5:15 p.m.
